How To Make A Paracord Dog Collar

Meet Bonnie. This is our new dog we rescued from dog heaven on two occasions. My daughter first saved Bonnie from a busy highway here in the Atlanta area. We then saved her from certain death at the local Humane Society.

“A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal….” Proverbs 12:10

Since our other dog proudly dons an Auburn collar, I immediately decided Bonnie needed some ramblin wreck colors on her collar. This was super easy to create. To make it simpler, I purchased a black nylon collar from Walmart for $2.50. The collar has strong buckles and a ring for attaching a leash.  I then used the cobra weave around the nylon collar.

To learn how to make the cobra weave check out an older article: How to Make a Survival Bracelet. You can download the free PDF file, and I step you through it. Or you can pretty much follow the series of pictures below.

Materials Needed:

  • One dog collar – $2.50
  • 550 Paracord (I used about 6 feet for each color)
  • A lighter (needs adult supervision)
  • Scissors

A Happy Bonnie

That is so sweet. I hope she is doing okay since her surgery. I can’t wait to see her in person again. She’s not a person. What is the proper word to say when your talking about a doggie?

What do you think?
